Difference between the concave mirror and convex mirror
|Concave mirror||Convex mirror|
|It is the section of a spherical mirror whose inner surface is polished to reflect light.||It is a spherical mirror whose outer surface is polished to reflect light.|
|It is called a converging mirror because it converges parallel beam light.||It is called a diverging mirror because it diverges a parallel beam of light.|
|Its focal length is positive.||Its focal length is negative.|
Nature of image
|In a concave mirror real as well as virtual images are formed.||In the convex mirror, only virtual images are formed.|
- CONCAVE MIRROR
It is a spherical mirror whose reflecting surface is towards the Centre of the sphere whose part is it.
- CONVEX MIRROR
It is a spherical mirror whose reflecting surface is on the Opposite side of the Centre of the sphere whose part is it.
