## What is Mass?

For physics, mass is nothing more than the magnitude that expresses the amount of matter in a body, measured by its inertia, which determines the acceleration produced by a force acting on it. It is an extrinsic property of bodies. Mass determines the measure of inertial mass and gravitational mass. The unit used to measure mass is the Kilogram in the International System of Units.

From physics, material bodies occupy a volume as they are extensive. It is a more complicated notion than the surface one. Volume is measured under the unit of the cubic meter according to the International System of Units. The Liter unit is used to measure capacity. There are various units of volume that are used depending on the context and the purpose for which the measurement is made.
